Fall chill in the air in the NEK
« on: August 25, 2017, 12:32:04 PM »
Today feels more like late September than it does late August. Currently at 12:30PM the temperature is only 59°F here in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Our low this morning was 44°F. The National Weather Service is call for more of the same for the next several days. Here's their forecast for Island Pond through next Tuesday, August 29th.

Those are definitely temps that will start the fall colors going and down here in Salem Mass, I  put on a fleece shirt to stay warm over night. (I refuse to close the windows until I have to)  and at 6AM it's 51 and the forecasted low was 54.
These temps remind me of 2012 when ALL of ME was receiving cold temps in Sept and it made for a confusing fall season. The colors were turning in CT as well as Vermont.

We've had to close most of our windows at night for the past week or so. We got down in to the 30's this morning for the first time of the season with a low of 39.6°F.

We need to keep an eye on these temps as they can force the colors early...
