Title: Best places for Leaves - Maine & Best time to visit 2017
Post by: leafphotographer on October 02, 2017, 01:17:12 PM
I've been to Maine a few times but haven't take professional Autumn pictures. I want to this time. Where can we go for peak fall color and when? Thanks!

What is the good time for peak color, given the leaves this time?

Thank you!!

As you will have noted the colors started in earnest very late in Maine. I was finding Peak south of Rangeley and on the western border of Maine around the 26th of Oct.

It was an incredibly hard year to call since the temps stay well above average. In past year you would start finding great color (I don't use the word peak because it is hard to define or get people to agree to what it is.
Normally Rangeley is peak from between the 1st to the 8th of Oct and then the color moves south and east. Acadia turned this year around the 26th to the 28th. That is about a week late...

Sorry no one answered you but I work full time so I don't get up here all the time...
